It can have significant problems with the powertrain. Meeting emission standards with an F1 engine was more arduous, especially when the company was looking forward to producing a 1000 HP output. Engineers found a way to tame the hybridized 1.6-liter turbocharged V-6. The powertrain was designed to output 5000 RPM in race trim, which was very high for the streets. Mercedes managed to tune it down to 1200 RPM with tamed engine behavior.

Two electric motors are set to drive the front wheels, one built into the turbocharger and one directly on the combustion engine with a link to the crankcase. Mercedes has promised 0 to 124 MPH in less than six seconds with a top speed of at least 217 MPH.

The pedals and Formula 1-style steering wheel can be adjusted as necessary. The seat surfaces are interspersed with Nappa leather in magma gray and inlays in a sporty textile mesh.

The build of the first 275 models is set to commence in 2022, finally signaling the realization of the project after a string of delays.
